SINAPSE and the Scottish Dementia Research Consortium (SDRC) proudly present a meeting on the topic of 'Neuroimaging in diseases that cause dementia' – following this year's annual Scottish conference for the European Prevention of Alzheimer's Dementia (EPAD) consortium.

2nd annual Scottish EPAD conference

Thursday, 22 August 2019 (programme)

  • The Day 1 conference will cover various aspects of this pan-European study including the perspective from the Chief Investigator, Prof Craig Ritchie, and the work of the Scottish Participants Panel with stories of their experiences amongst other presentations. Cross-over with the topic of Day 2 includes a presentation on Imaging in EPAD from SINAPSE Executive Committee member Prof Adam Waldman (University of Edinburgh).

Neuroimaging in diseases that cause dementia

Friday, 23 August 2019 (programme)

  • The Day 2 meeting will focus on brain imaging in cognitive impairment, contribution of imaging to clinical diagnosis, and the role of image analysis/artificial intelligence in aiding diagnosis. Research presentations from SINAPSE members will be intermixed with invited talks including a presentation on Neuroimaging biomarker discovery in UK Biobank from Fidel Alfaro Almagro (University of Oxford) and a debate addressing the question, "Is 'dementia' still a useful diagnosis?" Cross-over with the topic of Day 1 includes a presentation on the role of Neuroimaging in Secondary Prevention of AD dementia from EPAD fellow Silvia Ingala (VUmc Amsterdam).

Both meetings are free to attend and are held on consecutive days in the same venue. By clicking on the 'Register' button at the Eventbrite page linked below, the choice can be made to register for only the EPAD conference (22 August), only the SINAPSE/SDRC meeting (23 August), or both days of the event.
