A visiting scholar from Seattle - USA, Dr Kalpana Kanal, will be talking about her work on Computer Tomography (CT) doses in the USA at the upcoming PiW-NHS Lothian International Meeting. Dr Kanal is a Professor and the Section Chief at the Diagnostic Physics Department, University of Washington. Her work is focused on understanding and minimising CT dosimetry in adults and children. Last year, Dr Kanal won the "Patient Safety Hero Award" and her research has been featuring in prestigious journals in the field of radiological sciences.

At the meeting, Dr Mark Worrall, NHS Tayside, will also be speaking on the Scottish Paediatric CT protocol survey and Ms Wendy McDougald will talk on standardisation of preclinical Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) imaging across the globe.

This is truly a translational meeting covering exciting research on CT and PET imaging from mouse to man! And connecting researchers in Scotland and the other side of the Atlantic!
