UPDATE: this event has been postponed from April 2020 to September 2020 due to spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

The fifth annual Scottish Dementia Research Consortium (SDRC) conference welcomes members of the SDRC and everyone with an interest in dementia research.

This year's SDRC Conference, titled "Demystifying the world of data" will shed light on the world of informatics and how it is used and brain health research, from prevention, diagnosis, to helping to improve the lives of those currently living with dementia. We will also discuss public perceptions and fears of big data in research and provide some truth behind the headlines.

Throughout the day we will hear from PhD students and early career researchers from all disciplines who will present their current work and there will be dedicated sessions for you all to contribute to the day's discussions and share your ideas.

The next day (8 September), an Early Career Researcher Workshop on grant writing and collaboration will be hosted by SDRC. This one-day workshop will focus on supporting early career researchers through the process of applying for research funding. This includes collaboratively developing ideas, innovation, selecting appropriate funding calls through to writing successful applications.

This year's SDRC Conference is an opportunity to learn more about informatics from world leading researchers and will also leave you inspired by the extent and variety of all dementia and brain health research taking place across Scotland.

Students and early career researchers who would like to display a poster at the conference may submit abstracts until 10 August 2020
