SINAPSE experts from around Scotland have developed ten online modules designed to explain medical imaging. They are freely available and are intended for non-specialists.

Edinburgh Imaging Academy at the University of Edinburgh offers the following online programmes through a virtual learning environment:

Neuroimaging for Research MSc/Dip/Cert

Imaging MSc/Dip/Cert

PET-MR Principles & Applications Cert

Applied Medical Image Analysis Cert

1st synaptic million for 1st cohort SINAPSE student Adriana Tavares

Wellcome Trust Technology Development Grant to advance PET imaging of synaptic function

Dr Adriana Tavares was one of the first ever SINAPSE students and is now Head of Preclinical PET/CT at Edinburgh Preclinical Imaging. She has been awarded a Technology Development Grant award of just over £1M from Wellcome Trust to develop new PET biomarkers of synaptic function.

Adriana will lead this project with co-investigators Prof Andy Sutherland (University of Glasgow) and Prof Seth Grant (University of Edinburgh) to advance the production of, and quantitative analysis of signal from, the synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2A (SV2A) PET radiotracer [18F]MNI1126. Further details on the award can be found here. Congratulations, Adriana!
