eLearning

SINAPSE experts from around Scotland have developed ten online modules designed to explain medical imaging. They are freely available and are intended for non-specialists.

Edinburgh Imaging Academy at the University of Edinburgh offers the following online programmes through a virtual learning environment:

Neuroimaging for Research MSc/Dip/Cert

Imaging MSc/Dip/Cert

PET-MR Principles & Applications Cert

Applied Medical Image Analysis Cert

Online Short Courses

PhD opportunities at Aberdeen: 7T MRI and PET-MR, trace elements MRI, MRI relaxometry, EEG

Imaging-related research projects available among EASTBIO Doctoral Training Partnership PhD opportunities at University of Aberdeen

The EASTBIO (East of Scotland BioScience) Doctoral Training Partnership, funded by the BBSRC, offers an excellent programme of collaborative training for PhD students within the Biosciences.  The programme includes the following imaging-related research projects based at the University of Aberdeen:

Brain imaging predictors of cognitive ability - a multimodal investigation (Supervisors: Alison Murray, Edwin van Beek [University of Edinburgh], Keith Muir [University of Glasgow], Anca Sandu Giuraniuc)

Investigating the role of trace elements in brain ageing (Supervisors: Gordon Waiter, Chris McNeil, Alan Sneddon)

Non-invasive Mapping of Oxygen Extraction Fraction in Human: Development of Novel Multi-Parametric Magnetic Resonance Relaxometry Imaging Methods (Supervisors: Jiabao He, Tanja Gagliardi, Yazan Masannat, Ehab Husain, Matthew Clemence)

Mapping Attentional dynamics across multiple human visual brain areas (Supervisors: Søren Andersen, Justin Ales [University of St Andrews])
