eLearning

SINAPSE experts from around Scotland have developed ten online modules designed to explain medical imaging. They are freely available and are intended for non-specialists.

Edinburgh Imaging Academy at the University of Edinburgh offers the following online programmes through a virtual learning environment:

Neuroimaging for Research MSc/Dip/Cert

Imaging MSc/Dip/Cert

PET-MR Principles & Applications Cert

Applied Medical Image Analysis Cert

Online Short Courses

SPRINT-MND/MS PhD studentships in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, St Andrews

Imaging-related research projects available in SPRINT-MND/MS PhD programme

The SPRINT-MND/MS (Scottish PhD Research & Innovation Network Traineeships in MND/MS) programme is a network of PhD studentships across Scotland, to promote research into all aspects of motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis.

The programme includes the following imaging-related research projects offered for 2017 entry:

University of Aberdeen

Mapping neuroimaging phenotypes in Motor Neuron Disease

Supervisors: Prof Alison Murray, Dr Suvankar Pal

University of Edinburgh

Magnetisation transfer imaging biomarkers of demyelination and remyelination in MS

Supervisors: Prof Adam Waldman, Dr Peter Connick

University of St Andrews

Development of high throughput imaging assays to explore links between glial cell function and disease progression in a Drosophila model of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

Supervisors: Dr Stefan Pulver, Prof Richard Ribchester
