Vacancy: MRI Research Radiographer at University of Edinburgh

MRI Research Radiographer at Edinburgh Imaging

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the MRI Research Scanning team at the Edinburgh Imaging Facility (RIE). The year-long post, covering maternity leave, has MRI scanning and support of cutting-edge research central to the role. In addition, the post holder will also help provide a service to both NHS and private patients as well as being trained to carry out other research related tasks such as data management, participant consent to research and image analysis. As an academic establishment the facility is dedicated to facilitating continuous professional development and role extension.

The Edinburgh Imaging Facility (RIE) is based in the BioQuarter (Little France) within the Royal Infirmary (RIE). The facility have been strategically placed to collocate research and clinical services allowing easy integration of the imaging activities of the University of Edinburgh with those of NHS Lothian.

The facility utilises cutting edge imaging techniques using a state of the art 3T Siemens Prisma MRI scanner. This is combined with academic and technical expertise to carry out advanced level research. New techniques and products are developed and patients receive diagnostic scans to help guide their treatment, all from the same facility. This creates benefits at a societal level by helping create solutions to health issues and enhance quality of life via research, clinical service delivery and ongoing education and training.
