The Edinburgh Clinical Research Facility wishes to recruit an enthusiastic, independent person to provide technical support to a growing programme of research featuring ophthalmic imaging and analysis to study diseases of the eye, brain and body.

Located at the Edinburgh BioQuarter, Royal Infirmary campus, the role will principally involve conducting eye imaging assessments, communicating with participants and liaising with various study teams. The main responsibilities of the post-holder is to schedule study visits, undertake protocol-based ophthalmological imaging of participants, assist in the analysis of images, and follow quality assurance procedures to ensure that all data is accurately recorded. The post-holder will be required to operate several instruments including a scanning ophthalmoscope and optical coherence tomography to obtain images of the retina (training in all techniques provided on site). Previous experience with research of this type is desirable but not essential.
