Vacancy: PET R&D Research Technician at University of Edinburgh

A research technician position is available in the research and development team working on preclinical PET/CT imaging

A research technician position is available for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join the research and development (R&D) team working on preclinical PET/CT imaging. This post aims to support the radiotracer production, preclinical PET research and radiometabolite analysis.

Currently the preclinical PET/CT laboratory offers support to over 60 different R&D projects across the University of Edinburgh. It is a state-of-the-art facility for molecular imaging research using different radiotracers. Resources available in the microPET/CT laboratory allow for in vivo imaging studies in rodents targeting different systems and various research questions, as well as, ex vivo/in vitro imaging of human tissue samples and organs. In addition to the preclinical PET/CT scanner, available infrastructure for R&D in PET imaging includes an onsite cyclotron and three hot cells for production of radiotracers. This multi-million infrastructure has recently expanded with the addition of the new radiometabolite laboratory for analysis of radiotracer metabolism in blood and tissue samples.

We are looking for someone with experience in pharmacology, small animal and imaging research and a desire to continuously develop unique skills in the field of PET R&D.
