SINAPSE Innovation Partnership Fund 2022

***  Application Deadline 28th February 2022  ***

SINAPSE is delighted to offer a new round of its Innovation Partnership Fund. The main purpose of the funding is to facilitate innovative imaging developments in the SINAPSE network.

The funding must be used to support an imaging research or training projects involving partnership between a SINAPSE partner institution and at least one external organisation.  Proposals may build on existing or establish new collaborations. Priority will be given to proposals involving some external match funding.

Criteria for selection include:

  1. Evidence of the project’s contribution to a Scottish imaging research base that is internationally competitive and improving its reputation and standing in the world;
  2. Potential for wider benefits to Scottish imaging research or training as a result of the project; and
  3. Potential for significant impact on health in Scotland as a result of the project.
  4. External matched funding from another institution, collaborator or commercial partner.

SINAPSE would like to see all of its partner universities benefit from this fund and seeks to make awards to high quality applications from each institution. This will be in proportion to each institutions’ annual SINAPSE contribution. The maximum funds available for the Universities of Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow will be £5000. For the Universities of St Andrews, Stirling and Strathclyde, £2,500. If a partner institution does not make an application by the deadline, those funds will be awarded to other applicants.

Proposals will be assessed by representatives from the SINAPSE Executive Committee. All funds must be claimed by 30th June 2022

 Successful applicants will be expected to present their project outcomes as an Annual Scientific Meeting, prepare a brief article for the SINAPSE website, and demonstrate that they will proactively share results locally and throughout the SINAPSE network.
