Within-SINAPSE Exchange Funding

Strengthening connections within Scotland was one of the original objectives of SINAPSE, achieved with great success from the very start through initiatives including PhD studentships which required cross-site collaboration. To ensure that connections within the Scottish imaging research community continue to flourish, we are pleased to support within-SINAPSE exchanges, as a complementary funding scheme to the SFC-financed PECRE awards which fund international research exchanges.

Early career researchers (PhD students, postgraduates, technicians, or junior academic staff) may apply for up to £1,000 to visit another SINAPSE-affiliated site in order to obtain imaging-related training and skills development not available locally.

This funding is available only to SINAPSE members who belong to one of the seven partner Universities: Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, St. Andrews, Stirling, and Strathclyde.

Applications for within-SINAPSE exchange funding can be submitted at any time. Prospective candidates are encouraged to email kristin.flegal@glasgow.ac.uk for an informal discussion of requirements prior to submitting an application. The application form is available to downloaded here.
