The 10th SINAPSE Annual Scientific Meeting was held on 25 June 2018 at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The programme celebrated 10 Years of SINAPSE with stimulating proffered presentations, invited talks by local experts in preclinical and clinical imaging, two excellent keynote speakers, and opportunities to network with fellow imaging researchers from across Scotland.

The prizes for Best Proffered Talk were awarded to the following presenters from each of two parallel sessions:

  • Preclinical Imaging: Dr David Lewis, Beatson Institute for Cancer Research (A novel multi-transgenic vector for in vivo delivery of a radionuclide reporter gene to somatic cells)
  • Clinical Imaging: Dr Shuko Joseph, University of Glasgow (High-resolution MRI Imaging Of Bone-Muscle-Fat In Glucocorticoid Treated Boys With Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy)

The prize for Plenary Talk with Greatest Potential Impact went to Wendy McDougald from University of Edinburgh (Standardisation of preclinical PET/CT imaging: a necessary step towards achieving translational imaging datasets).

In the afternoon poster session, delegates indicated their favourite poster through a public voting system. The Best Poster prize went to Dr Mark MacAskill from University of Edinburgh (Preclinical assessment of 18 F-LW223; a novel TSPO radiotracer for the detection of inflammation using PET).
