We are looking for a post-doctoral fellow to join an exciting project to predict dementia from CT and MRI brain scans from data collected in the Scottish National Health Service, which have been made available through the Scottish Medical Imaging Service. The opportunity is funded by Neurii, a collaboration of organisation aiming to translate world-class data, neurology and digital sciences into projects that can enhance the quality of life of people living with dementia.

Although the project is initially for one year, if it is successful then four years of further funding is possible.

The successful candidate will work with a world-leading team of imaging scientists based in the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, and work in collaboration with scientists in artificial intelligence at Schools of Engineering and Informatics. The successful candidate will report to Professor Joanna Wardlaw CBE, one of the UK’s leading scientists, and Dr Maria Valdes Hernandez, Row Fogo Lecturer in Medical Image Analysis.
