It is a pleasure to announce that SINAPSE is organizing an introductory MATLAB workshop for beginners, with tutorials delivered by MathWorks engineers. The workshop will take place on April 17th and is free to attend, with priority given to PhD students and ECRs. Tea, coffee, and lunch will be provided as part of the event. There are only 30 places available, so please secure your booking as soon as possible. Registrations will be open until April 10th.
The workshop will provide an introductory overview of using computation in medical imaging and biosciences. Participants will learn fundamental MATLAB programming concepts, data visualization techniques, and image processing methods relevant to biosciences. Hands-on exercises will cover topics such as handling biological datasets, basic image filtering, segmentation, and quantitative analysis. Although the workshop is designed for beginners, some familiarity with the MATLAB interface is encouraged. If you have never used MATLAB before, you are strongly encouraged to take this short introductory course. After the seminar, you will have the opportunity to network with MathWorks engineers and discuss your computational needs. Please note you will need to bring your laptop with you on the day.
The workshop will take place in the Graham Hills Building at the University of Strathclyde.
