Congratulations to SINAPSE Director Professor Alison Murray, who has been appointed a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE).

Professor Murray is Roland Sutton Professor of Radiology at the University of Aberdeen and Director of the Aberdeen Biomedical Imaging Centre. She leads clinical brain imaging research in multimodal brain imaging correlates of brain ageing and dementia-related diseases, with a particular interest in the relative contributions of biomarkers of disease burden and life-course factors to the balance of cognitive reserve and resilience versus dementia and frailty.

RSE is Scotland’s National Academy, an educational charity that aims to play a leading role in enabling Scotland to contribute significantly to addressing global challenges. Its fellows help the RSE to provide independent and expert advice to policymakers, support aspiring entrepreneurs, develop research capacity and leadership, inspire and facilitate learning and engage with the general public.
