The SPRINT-MND/MS (Scottish PhD Research & Innovation Network Traineeships in MND/MS) programme is a network of PhD studentships across Scotland, to promote research into all aspects of motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis.

 

The programme includes the following imaging-related research projects offered for 2017 entry:

Mapping neuroimaging phenotypes in Motor Neuron Disease

University of Edinburgh

Magnetisation transfer imaging biomarkers of demyelination and remyelination in MS

Supervisors: Prof Adam Waldman, Dr Peter Connick

University of St Andrews

Development of high throughput imaging assays to explore links between glial cell function and disease progression in a Drosophila model of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

Supervisors: Dr Stefan Pulver, Prof Richard Ribchester
