Vacancy: Neuroscience and Immunobiology Clinical Research Fellow at University of Glasgow

Clinical Research Fellow position in Glasgow on a neuroimaging project exploring sickness behaviour in an intervention study of Rheumatoid Arthritis

This is a 3 year post to facilitate clinical research experience and training to support an MRC-funded research project in the interface between neuroscience and immunobiology, under the supervision of Prof Jonathan Cavanagh and Dr Neil Basu in the University of Glasgow. It is a collaboration with colleagues in the University of Cambridge (lead Prof Ed Bullmore) and there will be opportunities to liaise between the two centres.

The focus of the research will relate to neuroimaging (7T MRI, MRS and SPECT) in an intervention study of Rheumatoid Arthritis that seeks to explore the molecular underpinning of sickness behaviour. As a Clinical Research Fellow this post will allow the development of research skills and production of data leading to the submission of an MD or PhD degree. Although research will form the major component of this post, participation in associated clinical duties and teaching will be incorporated into the job plan.
