The post-holder will contribute to a 3-year project on neurovascular coupling, metabolism and high-resolution fMRI in rodents working with Dr Jozien Goense. The project focuses on development and application of combined fMRI and electrophysiological methods to address questions pertaining to neurovascular coupling and cortical circuitry in healthy animals and in disease. Specifically, the job requires expert knowledge in experimental neuroscience, preferably electrophysiology and/or MRI, and an interest in technology and quantitative methods.

The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project, as opportunities allow.

There are also opportunities for translational and collaborative work in the context of the new human 7T facility in the imaging centre of excellence (ICE).
