This is an exciting opportunity for a software engineer and data manager looking to be actively involved in the support of research imaging activity. Working with Edinburgh Imaging, we are looking for a full stack software engineer for developing, maintaining and supporting applications in Human Medical Imaging research and for managing Edinburgh Imaging data/related data. The post holder will liaise and work with the Edinburgh Imaging Senior Data Manager, IT and research staff and with other professionals from partner units and facilities within the University and other external organisations such as the NHS.

Main responsibilities:

  • Front End development for applications so that UI requirements are delivered. Backend Development for applications so that infrastructure and API’s are resilient and consistent.
  • Deliver a DevOps workflow to services so that they are delivered fast and effectively.
  • Support medical imaging projects requiring Web apps, databases and virtualisation, such as the UK Dementia Research Institute (DRI) Edinburgh CRF, the Cerebrovascular Disease database, the BRAINS Imagebank and Edinburgh Imaging scan management system amongst others.
  • Work with other Scottish HEIs, NHS and Commercial customers to enable secure and appropriate access to clinical imaging data acquired as part of clinical trials and/or required for teaching purposes, data sharing and/or for ensuring ethical management of research imaging data.
